With an increasing awareness of the importance of new business creation in
Asia and effectiveness of alliances and cooperation within the region in Asia,
the establishment of the Association of Asian Business Incubation (AABI), was
agreed among the representatives and experts from China, India, Japan, Korea,
and Taiwan at NBIA's 15th International Conference on Business Incubation, held
at San Jose, U.S.A. in May 2001. AABI was officially inaugurated at the NBIA's
16th International Conference held at Toronto Canada.

| AABI plans to conduct following activities: |
| a) |
To hold an annual assembly, and to meet at any opportunity to promote
technical cooperation and information exchange related to business incubation; |
| b) |
To hold a research meeting, seminar, or training institute; |
| c) |
To conduct public-relations activities to popularize and promote awareness
of business incubation; and |
| d) |
To conduct other activities consistent with AABI’s objectives. |
The AABI membership (as of May 2002) consists of representatives and experts
from China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong), India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and
Singapore and promotes alliances and cooperation within the region for new business
creation all over Asia.
