I studied physics at a university and joined an
manufacturer after graduation, where I started semiconductor
research on germanium and silicon, a new frontier of materials
research at that time. Then I moved to a reseach organization in the
United States to keep working on basic research of semiconductors,
always keeping the fruits of the research in my mind.

I will make every effort as
the Chairman of this organization. I am looking forward to the
linkage of our science and engineering findings cultivated in Japan
to the creation of new ventures, in collaboration among industries,
academics and government, which will lead to our future society with
vigor.

There is
no border to create new industries based on the research and
development outcome. To address this from global perspectives, we
would like to keep challenging to create new business opportunities
by interacting with each other in a friendly and competitive
way.
